Sue is a qualified information and privacy professional, with a law degree from the London School of Economics, and a PGdip in Information Science.
Until early 2019 she worked in the legal industry with a range of roles in law firms spanning 30 years. The law firms were specialists in markedly different fields – finance, parliamentary, housing, real estate, ecclesiastical and criminal procedure within law enforcement. She ultimately headed up a bespoke information service and a high level research team, resulting in a competitive edge for the firm. Training lawyers and support personnel was a major part of both the information and privacy/compliance roles. During this time she chaired the British and Irish Association of Law Librarians.
Her areas of expertise are GDPR – theoretical and practical – data protection, information management, legal research, compliance and regulation in the legal industry.
Sue has received the Freedom of the City of London and is a qualified tour guide. Her tour guide specialism is her birth place and current place of residence – Hackney. This also led to volunteering as an ‘Ambassador’ at the 2012 London Olympics , since Hackney was one of the host boroughs.
