Accreditation

1. Are the training courses Accredited?

In 2024, Naomi Korn Associates became an CPD Member Organisation. CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development and is the term used to describe the learning activities that people do to develop and enhance their skills, knowledge and expertise.

Participants gain CPD points by attending any of our Public Training and In-House Courses and successfully completing the multiple choice assessment at the end of each course.

Training Expectations & Access

26. How do I know what the content of the training is?

There is a full description of each course, together with detailed learning objectives on the booking pages of the website. Click on the course ‘tile’ to read more about each course.

Prior to each course, participants will be emailed with an agenda, the learning resources linked to the course and the trainer’s biography.

27. How is the training balanced and what breaks are there in the sessions?

We recognise that the subject matter of our courses can be complex and participants will be taking on a lot of new knowledge. Our sessions are designed to provide a balance for participants: learning by listening to the trainer and active and interactive learning using quizzes, reflections and group activities.

For the wellbeing of all participants, we have two short breaks in every session to give participants time away from the screen and to enable them to have a bit of thinking and reflecting time.

28. How can I as a participant get the most out of the training sessions?

At our online sessions we have interactive breakout activities in order to enable participants to learn through shared knowledge and discussion. We also encourage our participants to engage with the sessions and each other by:

  • Contributing to discussions and feedback from the small group activities.
  • Asking the trainer questions.
  • Adding comments, shared practice in the chat.

To get the best from our training events we encourage our participants, where possible, to:

  • Participate in the activities.
  • Have a working camera and microphone.
  • Focus on the training by closing down or logging out of other online channels such as email and Teams.
  • Consider all other participants and give others opportunities to contribute particularly in breakout discussions.
  • Ensure colleagues are aware that you are undertaking training and are not available.

29. How long are the course sessions?

Essential courses are the equivalent of a full-day session, delivered as two half-day sessions on different days. We have found that that structure enables delegates to have concentrated online learning in two manageable chunks of time. Each half day lasts for three and a half hours and includes three hours of learning. The full Essentials courses last for seven hours in total, including six hours of learning.

Intermediate courses are half-day sessions lasting three and a half hours and includes three hours of learning.

30. Are courses recorded?

For privacy reasons, and to encourage our course participants to fully engage with the learning process and associated activities we do not record our courses.

31. Are your courses close-captioned / signed / available in different formats.

Courses are delivered on-line via Zoom and can be close captioned and course material can be supplied in large text formats. Contact our Training Manager to discuss your access needs.

32. Do I get a copy of the presentation PPT?

We will email you a PDF of the presentation PPT normally within one week of attending the course.

34. What will I receive after the training?

After each course, we will send the presentation slides, a Digital Badge and your Certificate of Completion.

If you have completed the hours required for your Certification level and attained at least 80% in your assessment, you will also receive an emailed certificate, which will be available in a version you can post on social media.

35. How can I feedback after the session/course?

We are always looking at ways to improve our training courses and encourage our participants to give us feedback. You will be provided with a feedback form link after each course and we would love to hear what you think. We are always happy to hear from you, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Training Manager, Emma Hart, at emma@naomikorn.com

36. Are the Data Protection courses suitable for international participants?

Even if you are not based in the EU/UK you can still be caught by the GDPR if you offer goods or services (even free of charge) to data subjects in the EU/UK or monitor their behaviour within the EU/UK.  If this is the case, you will need to understand your GDPR responsibilities to ensure that your use of personal data is legal. Since GDPR and UK GDPR are substantially the same, our data protection courses will provide you with the practical knowledge you need to ensure compliance where services are offered to UK citizens and more widely across the EU.

37. Are the Copyright courses suitable for international participants?

If you are creating, sharing, publishing, licensing or commissioning content, and particularly if you are using content online, you will need to understand your copyright responsibilities. Whilst our copyright courses are based around the UK’s copyright legislation, the key principles will be very similar. Some of our Intermediate courses, such as Creative Commons Licences and Managing Orphan Works will be internationally applicable, whilst our Advanced Courses will also be suitable for International participants.

38. Who shall I contact with any queries?

Please contact our Training Manager, Emma Hart, at emma@naomikorn.com.
