New Horizons: Attack of the Bots

Naomi Korn Associates is delighted to be partnering up with CILIP for another year in programming and Naomi Korn is proud to be chairing the annual CILIP Copyright Conference on 23 May 2024.

These days copyright law is always in need of an update. But some of its flaws and failures are much older and more embedded than those associated with technology changes. Pawlet Brookes, keynote for CILIP Copyright Conference 2024 (taking place online on 23 May) explores historical and contemporary problems that intellectual property law and its interpretation have caused for black artists and creators. Please register here.

The CILIP Online Copyright Conference is an ideal and unique opportunity for all librarians, archivists and information professionals to update their knowledge and professional practice in this crucial area. Additionally, it will appeal to those who want to update their general copyright, licensing and publishing knowledge.

This year’s conference theme is Copyright: New Horizons – Attack of the Bots. The programme will explore different relationships, such as those between copyright and ethics, copyright and licensing, copyright and creators, AI and IP – and all shades in-between. Our discussions will consider how these sometimes symbiotic and sometimes more tension-driven relationships play out in the day-to-day, particularly within the contexts of libraries, universities and cultural heritage organisations.

Now with only a month to go before the conference, Naomi Korn Associates looks forward to seeing you there!
