AI and Copyright in Culture
Sean Waterman, Head of Intellectual Property, was delighted to join the Association for Cultural Enterprises’ Arts & Culture podcast for an episode on AI in Culture.
Sean said, “I really enjoyed speaking with Tom Dawson (Association for Cultural Enterprises) last week on the legal and ethical issues associated with the cultural sector’s use of AI. The starting point for any cultural institution should be to establish policies and procedures on their use of AI which align with their strategic objectives and their values. Naomi Korn Associates can assist cultural institutions in drafting their policies and procedures that identify and manage the potential risks and ensure compliance with copyright and data protection legislation. It is also important that staff are aware of the legal and ethical issues raised by using AI. Naomi Korn Associates has a CPD accredited training course on AI & Information Law: Privacy & Ethical Considerations. We are also developing an AI and copyright course which we will launch early next year.”
