Jess Pembroke, Director of Information Law Services, was delighted with the opportunity to share her thoughts with Naomi Korn Associates’ fellow UKIE (the trade body for the UK’s games and interactive entertainment industry) members about some of the Privacy and Data Protection considerations of game development, especially the importance of protecting children’s data, whilst chatting with Leo Harvey of UKIE.
Jess explored key data protection (DP) considerations and best practices for games development, recommending smaller organisations inform themselves about their data protection obligations[1] and highlighted some of the frameworks organisations can use to check their compliance through Age Appropriate Data Protection audit framework trackers[2] and recommended looking at the good practice outlined in the Age Assurance case studies provided by the ICO[3].
