Judith Curthoys

Consultant: Data Protection

Judith has over thirty years’ experience as an archivist at Christ Church in Oxford, a unique establishment of academic college of the University and cathedral for the diocese of Oxford. She also convenes the Oxford Archivists’ Consortium – a support and pressure group for more than 70 archives in Oxford and the wider county.

She has higher education qualifications in English Local History, the History of Architecture, and British archaeology. Judith is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and trustee of several publishing charities.

Judith has been managing data protection for Christ Church since 2016 and is a certified practitioner and data protection officer, with experience in drawing up policies, legitimate interest and data protection impact assessments, and in managing training in-house and more widely in the archive and library sector. At Naomi Korn Associates, Judith has delivered specialist training in relation to archiving and data protection law, and is working on projects involving reviewing and assessing personal data held within collections.
