Naomi Korn Associates has devised a Certified programme of practical training courses in Copyright, Data Protection and Information Governance. Our courses are for anyone working in cultural heritage, arts and the creative industries as well as the charity, education, public and private sectors. Courses have been created for participants with responsibility for legal compliance, information governance and asset use within their organisation, or those who want an essential overview. Each course can be taken individually, or those interested can choose to undertake our Essentials, Intermediate and Advanced Certificates. Participants can achieve Certification in Copyright and Data Protection (or a combination of the two topics) by attending bundles of courses, offered at a discounted rate.

Essential training courses deliver a practical introduction to the topic and are pitched at a beginner’s level. They provide participants with a broad overview of the topic, covering terminology and the main issues and challenges with clear examples and case studies to illustrate key concepts.
Our courses are ideal for participants who are new to the topic or seeking a refresher. Participants may be early-career or have recently assumed responsibility for this area of work within their organisation. The subject will be relevant to their role, or they are keen to expand their knowledge to help their organisation develop greater expertise in the subject.

Certification: Completion of one of the following (six hour) courses:
Assessment: Multiple choice questions to demonstrate that participants have achieved their learning objectives undertaken during the training time.
Rewards: Participants gain six CPD points, a certificate attesting to their achievement and a digital badge outlining their achievement on completion and passing of the assessment.

Intermediate training courses are for participants who have a good understanding of the topic. This is your opportunity to delve deeper into a specific aspect of the topic. The courses explore the nuanced detail of the subject with specific exercises, examples and case studies provided.
Generally, participants will have responsibility for legal compliance, information governance or asset use within their organisation. For example, you may be a senior manager and as part of your role, you are seeking ways to strengthen organisational compliance or resilience in this area. Courses at this level will help you embed procedures, disseminate learning to colleagues, and steer the strategic direction of your organisation. Pre-requisite: You will have participated on one of our Essentials courses and / or have day-to-day responsibility for or previous experience in this area.
Certification: Awarded after completion of 15 hours of learning: made up of nine hours of mandatory courses (three courses of three hours each) and your choice of six hours of elective courses (two courses of three hours each) and passing the Assessments at the end of each course.
Assessment: Multiple choice questions to demonstrate that participants have achieved their learning objectives undertaken during the training time at the end of each course.
Rewards: For each individual course, participants gain three CPD points, a certificate attesting to their achievement and a digital badge outlining their achievement on completion and passing of assessment.
When completing the overall Intermediate Certificate, participants receive an additional certificate outlining each course undertaken and the total CPD points achieved, along with a further digital badge to showcase their achievement. Advanced training courses are for participants who are looking to build on existing knowledge to ensure they understand in depth the requirements for implementing and managing either:
Advanced Certificate in Copyright a successful program of copyright/IP compliance to help them optimise access to their copyright and IP assets via a comprehensive guide to implementing and managing copyright compliance within an organisation.
Advanced Certificate in Data Protection a successful program of privacy and data protection compliance via a comprehensive guide to implementing and managing data protection compliance within an organisation.
Pre-requisite: This course is aimed at individuals who have completed our Intermediate Certificate (or equivalent), or are existing Copyright/IP Officers Information Governance Managers, copyright leads, Data Protection Officers/ Information Governance Managers, Data Protection leads and similar professionals.
Certification: Awarded after completion of 12 hours of learning: across your choice of Advanced Certificate in Copyright or Advanced Certificate in Data Protection and passing the Assessments at the end of each session.
Assessment: Multiple choice questions to demonstrate that participants have achieved their learning objectives undertaken during the training time at the end of each course.
Rewards: Participants gain 12 CPD points, a certificate attesting to their achievement and a digital badge outlining their achievement on completion and passing of assessment.
